Mia Jessup is a writer and producer based in LA. She creates surreal, female-driven, dark comedies that blend satire and heart.
Mia’s writing has advanced in both the Sundance Episodic Lab and Austin Film Festival. Her short films have screened internationally at festivals including the Women in Comedy Festival presented by HBO, Palm Springs International Comedy Festival, Berlin Feminist Film Festival, and Toronto Sketchfest, with shorts featured on Elizabeth Banks’ WhoHaha.
Drawing from her sketch comedy background, Mia writes dark comedies about niche subcultures. She’s a big fan of physical humor and characters who learn to love themselves despite (and because of) their flaws.
In addition to writing, she produces and manages live and digital productions, bringing a strong sense of story and execution to both scripted and real-world projects.
